Film Commissions in Europe and America is a collective work that includes 14 essays reflecting on the impact of the audiovisual industry on the territory, culture, and economic and social development. To this end, it analyzes the role played by Film Commissions and addresses from a critical
perspective the public policies for the promotion of the audiovisual industry, both in Europe (Spain, Germany, Belgium...) and in America (United States, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile...). It also offers multiple perspectives on social, political, economic, and cultural issues of great relevance: diversity (racial, gender, cultural), the representation of rural and urban areas, decolonization, collective memory, or urban touristification.
